Danielle Fortune is the Director for The Energeia Partnership, a leadership academy dedicated to educating a diverse group of ethical leaders from Long Island’s public, private and not-for-profit sectors. The Partnership addresses Long Island’s most complex issues: education, institutional and structural racism, poverty and the working poor, governance and taxation, land use, energy, transportation, resiliency, criminal justice, healthcare and media/social networking through a dynamic, two-year program.
Danielle works closely with over 600 partners and graduates to support the efforts and sustainability of the program and the ongoing education of our partners. She is an essential member of the curriculum committee and works closely with area experts to create content for the workshops and electives that educate our partners on the critical issues affecting our region. In addition, she has been collaborating with regional leaders on opt-in initiatives addressing the critical needs for Long Island.
In 2022, Danielle introduced the Energeia app in order to bring communications into the 21st century, creating a more streamlined and modern platform for engagement. She has also organized, executed, and reinvigorated Energeia’s communications platform and sustainable fundraising model.
After more than a decade at The School of Architecture and Design at the New York Institute of Technology, Danielle came to The Energeia Partnership with extensive experience in program coordination, budget management and planning and executing events. She was the coordinator of the School of Architecture and Design’s Advisory Board, the hospitality director for the school’s accreditation visit and co-coordinator of the Summer Abroad Program which brought her to Rome, Venice and Paris.
During the COVID crisis, Danielle coordinated a vaccination POD between Energeia Partners and Suffolk County which resulted in vaccinating 500 first responders. Danielle dedicates time to the EAC Network and STRONG YOUTH as a gala committee member, and her role within the Energeia Partnership allows her to work with many of the vital non-profits on Long Island that support the most vulnerable people in our region.
